APRIL FOOLS RIDE – Bike Walk Baldwin

The 2022 April Fools Ride is BACK IN APRIL!

With the passing of our beloved ride founder, Benny Watson on April 8th, 2022, the April Fools Ride will be ridden in his honor each year going forward.

Please join Bike Walk Baldwin Saturday April 30th, 2022 as we celebrate the 16th annual April Fools Ride and ride in memory of Benny Watson! Featuring a variety of routes, climb and fun, there is a great ride option for everyone! This year, choose from scenic 8, 31, 63, and 80 mile routes and enjoy 3 fully provisioned rest stops (80 mile route hits 1 stop twice) and SAG support. For this year’s after ride meal, each rider will receive a $5 Milly Money lunch voucher to use in downtown Milledgeville and choose from many great restaurants! Just come back to registration to claim or purchase your Milly Money and enjoy some good Milledgeville eats…are you ready to ride???

Due to popular demand, the ride format this year will again be a show-and-go format. If you would rather start with a large group, we will also have a 9am start, led out by the Milledgeville police department as a tribute to Benny. Registration will remain open from 7:00am to 9AM. Pre-registered riders will be emailed a copy of the waiver form. Please have this form signed and ready to drop off when you arrive so we can avoid long lines at registration. For riders who want to do the longer routes and get an even earlier start than 7am, you can sign the waiver and email it back to us, then start whenever you like. Rest stop schedules are posted on the web site so you can plan your start time based on your rest stop needs.

Registration ride pricing includes ride t-shirt, SAG and a $5 Milly Money lunch voucher: $30 for Friends of Bike Walk Baldwin* & students, $40 for all others.

*Become a Friend of Bike Walk Baldwin by offering an annual show of support. Your minimum donation of $25 gets a $10 discount off any two Bike Walk Baldwin events. You may donate at registration via PayPal or cash/ check. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; all donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Early registration pricing, as well as ride t-shirt orders end on April 16th at midnight. After that date, ride price goes up $10. We will not be ordering any extra ride t-shirts this year. So if you want a shirt, please register early. Onsite registration will open on Saturday morning, April 30th at 7:00AM. Please bring cash or a check as we will not have a way to process credit cards.

Ride Day Information

Registration: Registration opens 7:00am to 9am, location is:

Parking: You will be entering the Central State Hospital Campus to get to AFR
registration area; Responsive Technology Partners is the same site we use regularly. Parking is allowed on the
shoulders of Jones Drive and along the pecan grove; there will be help to guide vehicles
to designated parking areas. The CSH campus has many unsafe buildings and
structures throughout the campus and is patrolled by Dynamic Security for
restricting trespassing. Please refrain from exploring the grounds and buildings
where trespassing warnings are posted; it is a felony offense to enter any of these
unsafe areas.

7:00am -9am/ Registration: Riders will be checked in as either pre-registered (those
registering online before midnight Saturday, April 16th) and those registering that
morning (late registration). Pre-registered riders will get a ticket for their $5 Milly
Money Voucher to redeem after the ride, as well as a ride T. All others will get a ticket
for a $5 Milly Money Voucher to redeem after the ride. No extra ride Ts will be available
for sale; however, riders may purchase as many extra Milly Money Vouchers as they like.
Cue sheets for all routes including SAG contact number will be available. A Ride
Waiver must be signed and all riders must wear helmets.
